YouTube Description
as posted by the channelGerman government spokesman, Steffen Hebestreit, said on Monday that the government "doesn’t rule out" providing Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks, but a decision hasn’t been made yet.
Asked about Germany’s hesitancy in providing the much-sought battle tanks to Ukraine, Hebestreit told reporters in Berlin that it was important not to take a "reckless" step that might be regretted afterward.
But he insisted that the factors being considered were complex and go beyond getting specific commitments for similar shipments from other countries.
"These are hard questions of life and death,” he said. "We have to ask what this means for the defense of our own country."
Pressed on how long a decision on sending tanks might take, Hebestreit said: "I assume that it’s not a question of months now."
