1:28Now PlayingPresident Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Thursday that he has no right to "go back home without results" at the end of his rare trip outside Ukraine to gather western support.
Zelenskyy made his appeal during an emotional day at EU headquarters in Brussels to seek new weaponry from the West to repel the full-scale invasion that Moscow has been waging for nearly a year.
"We left emotions a year ago on the 24th," he said. "We need these weapons and this money to survive, he added."
He reiterated that "long-term peace in Europe would be established only when Ukraine wins and becomes a member of the EU and NATO," saying that important progress was made during his trip.
He then insisted once again that the fight with Russia was one for the freedom of all of Europe.
Zelenskky, who also visited the U.K. and France will already head home with heaps of goodwill and commitments of more military aid.
