as posted by the channelAt least two civilians were killed when Russian artillery struck a humanitarian aid station, homes, and other buildings in the Ukrainian city of Kherson on Thursday afternoon, June 29, regional officials said.
Another two people – men aged 34 and 51 – were hospitalized with burn injuries, according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office. and Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.
Prokudin said Russian forces struck a residential building, a medical facility, and a school being used as a ‘Point of Invincibility,’ the name given to humanitarian aid stations launched by the government in November 2022 as the Russian military targeted critical infrastructure across the country.
The stations provide heat, water, electricity, mobile communication, internet, first-aid kits, and provisions for mothers and children, according to a government-run website. Many were set up in public buildings, such as schools, fire stations, town halls, and railway stations.
Earlier on Thursday, the regional government said Russian shelling in Bilozerka, a town about 8 miles west of Kherson, had killed a 71-year-old woman. A 74-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were injured in the strikes, they said.
