Russia's Defense Ministry on Friday shared footage of joint naval drills with China in the Bering Sea. The Russian and Chinese ships were training the search and destruction of a mock enemy submarine, the ministry said.

In the maneuvers, missiles were fired at the target in the southwestern part of the Bering Sea, it added.

According to the ministry, the crews have travelled over 2,300 nautical miles since the start of the drills and passed the Sea of Japan, La Perouse Strait, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Kamchatka Strait.
