Israeli military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said there were still no details on the hospital strike and deaths: “We will get the details, will know the facts accurately and will update the public."
The Health Ministry run by Hamas in Gaza City said an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday hit a Gaza City hospital packed with wounded and other Palestinians seeking shelter, killing hundreds.
If confirmed, the attack would be by far the deadliest Israeli airstrike in five wars fought since 2008. Speaking right after the hospital was hit, Hagari said there were lots of rockets fired by Hamas on central Israel at the same time and it could have been a misfire too.
"Because there are lots of air strikes and there are also a lot of misfires and there is also a lot of false reports by Hamas, we will learn the details and will tell the truth to the public."
