0:57Now PlayingNorth Korea's state media on Friday released photos showing their country's leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter wrapped in leather coats and wearing dark glasses visiting North Korean's Air Force Command. The event took place Thursday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said. North Korean state media often report news the day after it happens.
Kim's visit marked The Day of Airmen, according to the KCNA report. It came just a week after North Korea said it launched a spy satellite. North Korean state media have been full of reports about the images produced by the satellite, of military assets and strategic locations around the world but has not published any examples of these images.
Friday's report also included photos of Kim Jong Un in a room with large screens on the walls and the floors, together with air force officers. Large parts of the images are blurred in the KCNA photos. In recent years, North Korean state media have increasingly used blurring to obscure parts of images, both of people's faces, as well as background details.
