Not only is there a long list of pending and contentious priorities on the agenda for him to deal with, from warrantless foreign surveillance to aid for Ukraine, the threat of being ousted from the speaker’s chair is hanging over him courtesy of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Greene’s discontent with Johnson has been brewing for some time. It came to a head after the House passed a $1.2 trillion bill to fund the government for the rest of the fiscal year. Johnson’s fellow Republicans largely opposed the deal, which passed with overwhelming Democratic support.
