Speaking Thursday before the U.N. Security Council, Miroslav Jenča warned that attacks on civilians, civilian infrastructure and a targeted attack of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant were of great concern and must stop.
“No one can benefit, either militarily nor politically, from attacking nuclear facilities. Instead, the consequences of a nuclear accident, whether intentional or not, could be catastrophic to us all,” he said.
Jenča was joined by Edem Wosornu, Director of Operations and Advocacy at United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, who called for greater humanitarian access in Ukraine.
