Following the collapse of a plea deal on both matters, his trial on gun charges began in Delaware June 3. Another on tax charges is set to start in California Sept. 5.
Prosecutors charged him in a federal court in Delaware with three counts relating to his October 2018 purchase of a Colt Cobra .38 caliber revolver while he was a drug addict. When buying the gun, he had answered “no” to a question on a federal handgun purchase form about whether he was “an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance.”
