Those numbers blew past nearly all expectations, and Biden’s aides and allies were ready to take a victory lap. They argued, once again, that Biden engineered a remarkable turnaround for an economy that had been debilitated by the pandemic.
Of course, voters didn’t see it that way in November, offering Donald Trump a clear lane back to the White House.
