The story that China was considering Musk as a potential TikTok owner sparked a lot of conversation online. China likely sees a Musk deal as advantageous to navigating its tenuous relationship with the Tesla CEO’s new boss, Donald Trump. If the US Supreme Court rules that ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, must have an American owner, it seems the president-elect’s right-hand man would be a safe bet.
