In combative opening remarks to a confirmation hearing Thursday for her nomination as director of national intelligence, Gabbard ticked off examples she portrayed as intelligence abuses, accusing the FBI and the intelligence agencies of efforts to “undermine” Trump’s presidency and “falsely portray him as a puppet” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“For too long, faulty, inadequate, or weaponized intelligence have led to costly failures and the undermining of our national security and God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution,” Gabbard told the Senate Intelligence Committee Thursday.
