Israel ratcheted up attacks on Iran while Tehran vowed to retaliate against US strikes on its nuclear facilities, fueling fears of a wider war in the Middle East and unnerving global markets.
Israel struck targets including airports and an internal-security headquarters run by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Defense Minister Israel Katz, while the military reported a fresh assault on Iran’s Fordow nuclear site to obstruct access routes.
The Islamic Republic fired several missiles of its own at Israel on Monday, suggesting no immediate plans to pare back fire.
