“I am running, and I am going to beat Mamdani,” he told reporters Friday outside Gracie Mansion. “I am going to continue the success that the city has witnessed.”
The decision comes a day after President Donald Trump told reporters that he’d like to see two candidates drop from the crowded November election in order to improve the chances of defeating democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani. The Queens assemblyman has rattled political and business leaders with his progressive agenda and is favored to win.
