The House formally voted to honor conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s life and condemn his assassination Friday, with 95 Democrats joining all Republicans to support the measure.

The resolution (H.Res.719), sponsored by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), also commends law enforcement for its response to last week’s shooting in Utah, extends condolences to Kirk’s family, and calls upon all Americans to reject political violence. Thirty-eight Democrats voted present, and 58 opposed the resolution.
