Egypt’s foreign minister said Arab states support US President Donald Trump’s latest push to end the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
“It was very, very encouraging,” Badr Abdelatty told Bloomberg Television on Friday, referring to a meeting on Gaza between Trump and officials from Arab and Muslim-majority states earlier in the week. “We are in full support of the vision and plan of President Trump.”
It’s unclear what Trump will do to persuade Hamas to surrender or Israel to accept a ceasefire, though he’s meeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday.
