Monday’s attack, announced by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a post on X, saw the US military launch three strikes on four boats, killing a total of 14 “narco-terrorists” with one survivor. US forces started a search and rescue operation after the attack, but Mexican authorities eventually assumed responsibility for the search, Hegseth said Tuesday.
