0:32Now PlayingTransportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned that disruptions would worsen considerably if House lawmakers fail to send the funding deal to President Donald Trump for his signature.
Failing to do so will result in “massively more disruption as we come into the weekend if the government doesn’t open,” Duffy told reporters at Chicago’s O’Hare airport.
He warned some airlines could resort to grounding aircraft, potentially pushing flight cuts beyond the 10% reduction that the FAA has ordered airlines to implement by Friday.
“It is going to radically slow down, so the House has to do its work,” Duffy said.
