"There's a lot of thoughtful discussion to be had there, and that's what we expect is going to happen. So all this stuff about military action and all that, I don't even think that's a possibility. I don't think anybody's seriously considering that. And in the Congress, we're certainly not. "
This comes as Denmark and Greenland are seeking a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio after the Trump administration reiterated its intention to take over the strategic Arctic island.
Rubio has told U.S. lawmakers that the Trump administration wants to eventually purchase Greenland, rather than use military force to take over the self-governing territory of Denmark.
