Canadian firm Cameco Corp. signed a C$2.6 billion uranium supply deal with India to supply 22 million pounds of the reactor fuel from 2027 through 2035.

The agreement reflects a reset in bilateral ties after relations soured following Canada's allegations in 2023 that agents linked to the Indian government were involved in the killing of a Sikh activist.

The deal is part of India's efforts to raise its nuclear power capacity and creates a growing market for uranium that can't be met by India's domestic resources alone.
