The UK's Defence Secretary John Healey visited Cyprus after the UK's base on the island was hit by a drone, with the Cypriot government saying it was “disappointed” Britain hadn’t done more to protect its RAF Akrotiri base from attack.
Starmer said the UK started pre-deploying to the region in January and February, and that more than 140,000 British nationals had registered their presence in the region, enabling them to get information and support.
