Trump’s remarks came after the US held off attacking Iran for a third straight day, despite making threats last week about a major new attack, and Iran paused strikes on Gulf countries.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said no formal negotiations are currently taking place, but Oman and Iran are trying to reach an agreement to restart shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
