Speaking to reporters Monday at the White House, Trump said the US was in “very good shape” with the virus that spread on the Hondius ship, leaving three people dead. The medical emergency has required a multi-country response to evacuate passengers from the Dutch-flagged vessel.
All 17 US citizens who were aboard the ship have arrived in Nebraska for assessment via a State Department airlift, with two passengers taken in biocontainment units “out of an abundance of caution,” the Department of Health and Human Services said late Sunday in a post on X. Besides the one person with a confirmed case, another is showing mild symptoms.
