It's the largest man-made floating object ever built, nearly 300 feet longer than the previous record holder, Maersk's Triple-E cargo ship but the Prelude is not precisely a ship: it's a floating natural gas processing facility designed to be anchored to one spot for decades at a time and produce millions of tons of natural gas per year.
