The Falcon 9 will be carrying NOAA’s $340 million Deep Space Climate Observatory, a satellite that will detect solar storms and provide warnings to forecasters. And if all goes as planned the Falcon 9 booster rocket will return to earth and land on a floating platform in the Atlantic. SpaceX is hoping to reuse the Falcon 9 boosters in later flights. Here’s a look back at some of SpaceX's other important launches.
