24:15Now PlayingBorn in 1972 in Singapore, Charles Lim is a former Olympic sailor and his art is based on his special affinity with the sea. From films, installations, and photography, his works explore the biophysical, aspirational, and cerebral contours of the island city-state of Singapore, through the visible and invisible lenses of the sea.
Lim challenges people’s sublime notion of the sea by his unconventional representations of the sea. He is best-known for his Sea State series, a decade-long collection of works with the premise of inverting perceptions of sea and land in Singapore.
