Roxane Gay, a New York Times best selling author for her 2014 essay collection, "Bad Feminist", faced repeated rejection throughout her early years as a writer. Pushing through that rejection, and subsequently through societal barriers, her work has since been published far and wide. Along with Yona Harvey, she was the first black female writer to lead a Marvel comic, World of Wakanda.
