Von der Leyen spoke Tuesday sitting next to Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Oil prices are getting fresh bullish momentum as traders weighed the fallout from Ukraine’s strikes on Russian refineries and the risk that Moscow could curb diesel exports. The bullish sentiment in diesel prices, which were up nearly 2% led the energy complex on Tuesday and propelled crude oil higher.
WTI crude was up about 2.3% to $63.69, snapping a four-day slide, following news that Russia is weighing restrictions on exports. Already in Europe, hedge funds and money managers have boosted bullish bets on diesel to the highest levels in three years as the threat of flows being disrupted rises. These latest developments could turbocharge such bets further.
