7:24Now PlayingAvalon Pernell discusses the comeback of "Pharma Bro" Martin Shkreli after spending four years in prison for securities fraud and conspiracy. The then-CEO of Turning Pharmaceuticals rose to fame in 2015 after he raised the price of a life-saving anti-parasitic drug by 5000%. Pernell says Shkreli has been active online since leaving prison in 2022, hosting livestreams where he gives stock buying advice, consulting with a photonics company, and even formally requesting a pardon from the White House so he can get back into the pharmaceutical industry. As she explains, despite his criminal history, Shkreli has super fans that tell Pernell they have "been looking out for him even throughout his prison stint the past decade."
