- Super Micro (SMCI) gave a sales forecast for the current quarter that topped analysts’ estimates, a sign the booming artificial intelligence market continues to bolster sales of the company’s servers. Shares jumped about 9% in extended trading after closing at $31.60 in New York. The stock has gained 8% this year.
- CoreWeave (CRWV) a provider of computing that powers artificial intelligence systems, topped analysts’ estimates for second-quarter sales after signing up more customers in a booming market. Sales more than doubled to $2.58 billion, the company said in a statement Tuesday. The company’s net loss was $1.14 a share. Analysts had projected sales of $2.56 billion and a loss of $1.41 a share, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The shares rose about 7% in late trading after the report was released. They had been up 26% this year through the close.
- Cava (CAVA)'s sales rose faster than expected as the restaurant chain’s salmon and pita chips drew in diners, showing that Americans are willing to spend when cost and taste converge. An increase in traffic helped drive a 9% jump in sales at established locations, a faster pace than analysts polled by Bloomberg anticipated. Customers also bought higher-priced proteins, including a pomegranate-glazed salmon, and kept tacking on extras such as pita chips flavored with sumac, sour cream and onion Cava shares rose about 3% at 4:22 p.m. in postmarket trading in New York. The stock was up 3.7% this year through Tuesday’s close, trailing the 17.5% rise of the S&P Midcap 400 Index.
