as posted by the channelAll four U.S. prosecutors, who backed a seven- to nine-year prison stay for President Trump ally Roger Stone, quit the case Tuesday after the Justice Department cut its recommendation in half. Aaron Zelinsky, Adam Jed and Michael Marando and Jonathan Kravis announced their exit as the DOJ suggested a more lenient sentence of three to four years. Stone was convicted in November of lying to Congress, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Hours before the DOJ reduced its calculation, Trump criticized their request as a "miscarriage of justice."
Later Tuesday, Trump said he didn't intervene in Stone's sentencing, but "I had the absolute right to do it," he added. Asked whether he'll commute the sentence, he responded: "I don't want to talk about it," but "we'll see what happens."
