Even though this round of cuts was announced in March, many projects were put on pause and workers felt like they were in a state of limbo. The company, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said the layoffs were necessary to improve efficiency. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said 10,000 positions would be eliminated.
