The US Treasury yield curve has been in a state of inversion for more than a year now, and the negative between the 2Year and 10Year Treasuries recently reached its widest level since the early 1980s. Usually bonds with longer durations have higher yields than bonds with shorter durations. But when shorterdated bonds yield higher rates than longerdated ones, this typically precedes trouble in the economy.
