He spoke with Bloomberg's Guy Johnson as the IATA forecast a record $30.5 billion of revenue for airlines in 2024 and return on invested capital to touch 5.7%, some 3.4 percentage points below their average cost of capital, which is more than 9%. "I think you can say there is further room for growth in the margin," Walsh told Bloomberg at the start of the IATA's annual general meeting in Dubai.
