On today's show, The European Commission has launched countermeasures to the new US tariffs on steel and aluminium, with plans to impose duties on American goods worth €26 billion. President Trump has dialled back a threat to double US tariffs on Canadian steel and metal imports to 50%. But he reiterated he wanted the country to become the 51st US state. Meanwhile, Ukraine has accepted a US proposal for a 30-day truce with Russia in exchange for lifting a freeze on military aid. The US will now take the proposal to Russia's President Vladimir Putin to seek his agreement.
