As Trump leaves the G-7 meeting early, the other leaders issue a joint statement urging a broader de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza. The BOJ holds rates at 0.5% but will slow its tapering of bond purchases by 200 billion yen per quarter starting April 2026.
