On today's show, the record-setting 41-day US government shutdown may end as soon as Wednesday, after the Senate passed a temporary funding measure backed by a group of eight centrist Democrats.
Bloomberg understands that Switzerland is close to securing a 15% tariff on its exports to the US. The deal, which may be concluded within the next two weeks, would be a relief after Switzerland was hit with a punishing 39% levy in August.
Bloomberg is told LVMH is set to open major stores in China next month and, the world's biggest luxury group is in talks for more retail outlets there in the next couple of years.
