Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel — the state's top law enforcement officer — says she will not attend her own party's nominating convention this month. Not a scheduling conflict. She doesn't feel safe.

"The threats that I receive are almost exclusively anti-Semitic threats," Nessel says. "People aren't interested in the fact that I'm gay. They're not interested in the fact that I'm a woman. It's just been getting worse and worse and worse."
