This video is about the Mahamba, an alleged fifty foot crocodile. The primary sightings come from a British engineer named John Reinhardt Werner. Werner took a steamboat up the Congo in the 1880s, and he documented his adventures (and misadventures) in his book "A Visit to Stanley's Rear-Guard."

Hidden within the pages of his book are two encounters with separate crocodiles. One was over forty feet long, and the other was over fifty feet.

Anyone who knows anything about crocodiles will tell you that crocodiles of that size, or even half that size, are fantasy. Usually, I'd agree, except when we're talking about the Congo. It is a mysterious and dangerous place where mysteries and wonders abound.

I'd like to thank @gatorjake456 for providing hours of quality crocodilian content that we all crave.
