YouTube Description
as posted by the channelHumans have been saying “New Year, New Me!” and making New Year’s Resolutions for 4,000 years. 🤯
Since we’re almost at the end of January, how are your 2021 new year's resolutions?
As we start a new season of Bold Life, host Oni Higgins sits down with Harvard-trained psychotherapist and life coach Madelaine Claire Weiss to discuss how to effectively create and execute our new year’s resolutions, and watch to the end of the video where Weiss gives you an exercise to help stick to your resolutions you can use anytime and anywhere.
Weiss states that about 92% of new year’s resolutions made fail every year. As to why, it’s a head scratcher, but what can be said is that the same resolutions are made by humans every year, over and over. And Weiss believes that this is partially due to us making new year’s resolutions for over 4,000 years, but also because we find comfort in making these promises, as they might provide distractions from real issues or actually achievable successes. And regardless of an issue or possible success, that puts us outside of our comfort zone.
Need any more help with your resolutions? Want to learn how to stop procrastinating? Head to Weiss’ website to learn practices that you can implement in your own life right now!
