GameStop Stock, Robinhood, Reddit...What's Going On?! 🤯

Did you know that the average American family of four throws away about $1,800 worth of food every single year?!

It’s been a long, insane, week at the NYSE, so let’s dive right into it.

To put it simply, members of a subreddit called r/wallstreetbets spent about seven months buying into Gamestop and causing the value to rise because of seemingly increased demand. At the same time, hedge funds were betting against the rise of Gamestop so when Gamestop’s value shot into the 400’s, the hedge funds lost a lot of money which led to the retail buyers making a lot of money in return. The same thing happened with other brands including AMC, Naked Brands, Blackberry, and Nokia.

Eventually investment app Robinhood stopped people from buying these skyrocketing stocks causing a lot of anger and chaos. There’s a lot to unpack here.

To help us out, our host Philip Michael sat down with the Co-Founder of TradeZero America, Dan Pipitone, and CEO of VersusGame, John Vitti. These two financial experts give us their comments on what’s happening, and let us know where they think the stock market is headed in 2021.
