Chapters:

Raising the Minimum Wage - People are arguing across America whether or not we should raise the minimum wage to $15/hour. Keep in mind that the Federal Minimum Wage is $7.25/hour which most agree is not a minimum wage.

While this was happening, Costco stepped in and raised their minimum wage to $16/hour. Costco is the second biggest retailer in the country with over 180,000 employees, and the co-founder is also famous for not raising the price of a hot dog at Costco higher than a dollar even with inflation. Also to note, Target and Amazon both have a minimum wage of $15, and Walmart has a minimum wage of only $10. Will other big names be able to compete with Costco?

Twitter Super Followers - Twitter is rolling out their first major update since they introduced Fleets. On Twitter, you are now able to charge people to see your exclusive content. They are also introducing groups, very similar to how groups work on Facebook. Some people are upset with the idea of having to pay for tweets, with “RIP Twitter” trending on Twitter after it was announced. No release date for these updates has been announced.

Russell Westbrook - Nine-time NBA All Star Russell Westbrook is officially in the investment game. He’s partnered with Varo bank, America’s first all-virtual bank, as an investor. His goal is to partner with minority-owned businesses that are usually ignored by traditional banks and bridge that financial gap. Westbrook’s company led the investment round of $63 million dollars.
