Going where the money resides isn’t the case for Amanda Gorman or Rege Jean Page as they both decided not to get that bag. After it was announced that Rege Jean Page would not return in the hit Netflix series Bridgerton for season two, it was also shared that Rege Jean Page turned a $50,000 episodic deal to appear within two to three episodes within the season. Originally Simon, the character played by Regé-Jean Page wasn’t built into any future storylines, and with an influx of opportunities coming his way after playing this memorable role, Regé-Jean Page decided to move on to other projects and films.
In the recent Amanda Gorman interview in Vogue magazine, after gracing Vogue’s May cover, Amanda Gorman stated that she declined $17 Million worth of brand deals. Amanda Gorman is the first poet ever on the cover of Vogue magazine.
Speaking of greatness, new music from Prince Coming 2 America is set to debut on July 30th. According to the Prince Estate, the new music was what Prince was set to perform on his 2010 Welcome 2 America tour. Are you ready for more Prince music?
A Kanye West documentary has been in development for 21 years, and Netflix has secured the project for $30 Million. The Netflix documentary is set to debut later this year, and will feature never before seen home movies plus rare footage of Kanye West. Two music producers/filmmakers, Clarence Simmons and Chike Ozah, who helped direct two of Kanye’s first videos, “Through The Wire” and “Jesus Walks”, will be behind the making of this project.
Lastly, we must recognize the passing of DMX. The legendary DMX passed last Friday at the age of 50 in the White Plains hospital due to a heart attack. We are sending our love and support to his family and friends during these times.
