Is this okay? How do we feel about airlines weighing passengers?
Ryan Adams says that airlines are very good at cutting corners for profits, and even to the detriment of passengers. So he asks, what do passengers get out of this? If you weigh summer travelers this summer for a study will they receive more leg room? More miles on their credit card? Ryan Adams says that it’s not unlike the airlines to do something that involves passengers without them receiving any of the benefits.
Joe Collins agrees that transparency is a must. If they take this information, what are they planning to do with it?
For these contributors, this is a cost saving issue, and a privacy issue. And the airlines are not very well known for their privacy, especially during airline security.
