Will Gavin Newsom Lose His California Governor Seat?

Gavin Newsom, Democrat and Governor of California, will face an election recall vote later this year, with a petition calling for his removal reaching 1.6 million signatures, enough to get on the ballot in Sacramento.

At first it didn’t look like that this petition would pass when it was drafted, but eventually gained enough steam. The events of 2020 helped with that, and Californians believed that 2020 could’ve been handled better.

Initially Gavin Newsom was criticized for being too slow on reopening business that had to close in 2020. Not to mention when the internet exploded after footage of Newsom surfaced of him attending an LA restaurant, in violation of his own guidelines.

The initial petition for the election recall actually appeared in February 2020 as part of a Republican effort that also included addressing property tax rates, homelessness, and other issues.

The election will happen this fall, and if 50% of voters vote for the election recall, then Gavin Newsom will be voted out of office. This is only the 2nd out of 55 attempts to get a recall election vote on the ballot for the Governor of California.

And not to mention the roster of who is also running for Governor of California including Randy Quaid, Caitlyn Jenner, and many, many more.
