With more and more people calling themselves entrepreneurs and claiming how great it is to be an entrepreneur, Netflix’s CEO Marc Randolph is annoyed with this “glorification of entrepreneurship.” Netflix CEO Randolph says that this glorification gives many young entrepreneurs a false image of what it takes to actually run their own business.
With social media like TikTok, many of these influencers make it seem a lot easier to go out there and run their own businesses. Unfortunately, the reality is that money doesn’t go on trees. There’s a lot of grunt work necessary in order to reach the success you are aiming for.
Is it simple to start a business and run a business? Yes. Is it easy? No. That’s not to discourage anyone from starting their own business. Go out there and do it! But you have to realize that it takes a lot of work and once you acknowledge that then go ahead and start your own business. However, if you aren’t willing to do all the work, then maybe this isn’t the path you should take.
