Who doesn’t love a good speaker?! Here are some great products for music and movie lovers!
Welcome back to Show And Tell with Peter Salib, a product showcase giving you the latest in tech gadgets and everything else you would want. Be sure to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell for all things BOLD.
Today we are talking about Air Audio by Quirky and it’s the world’s first pull apart speaker. You can pull it apart and set it up for surround sound. It can be separated into up to five pieces and as little as one large piece. Or you could even take one of the smaller pieces and go use it outside or any other activity.
When it’s one big piece made up of five smaller parts, it is a pretty powerful speaker with a power of 24 watts. The main middle speaker is called the Air Base and the smaller pieces are called the Air Connects. If you pull them apart they sync up and together. The speaker knows if they have been pulled apart or if they are together. Since they connect magnetically, there is no need for an app to organize what speakers do what. These speakers use Bluetooth and are portable. So you can have surround sound at one table or have a separate one on five different tables.
Worried about rain? It’s no big deal. These speakers are an IPX4 water resistant product so they can be used while it’s raining or in a shower.
You can also charge all the speakers together through the bass or charge them individually with their individual charging ports. While there isn’t too much bass, the sound quality overall is solid.
These speakers were created by Quirky, which is a community-based company that was taking idea submissions from the public. Any person could participate and Quirky would use their product development expertise, manufacturing, prototyping, design, and launch the product with payment to the inventor in the form of royalties. This speaker is one of the products that came out of that.
You can get the Air Audio Quirky on Amazon for $199 here
