Fall is here so employers are getting ready for the holiday season. They are getting ready to hire seasonal employees. Amazon is prepping for another surge of online shopping and in preparation is hiring 125,000 employees throughout the US. This is 25% more than last year. Amazon facilities are increasing the minimum wage around the country and employees could get paid anything between $15 and $22 per hour!
As a result of the tight labor market, employees are trying to entice people back into the workforce. Increasing the minimum wage is just the start. Other companies like Target, Starbucks, Walmart, and Chipotle, are tapping into the college population by offering to pay for school books and tuition as well.
