Florida Man Goes Viral
A Florida man goes viral after applying to 60 entry-level jobs that pay minimum wage and only getting one interview and no actual job. Around the country, we are hearing cries of labor shortages but the problem may really be hiring practices. Millions of jobs stay open as these companies continue to reject people who could fill those jobs. Unemployment relief, public health concerns, the increasing cost of child care, and mass layoffs are leading to a labor reckoning. Some are calling it ‘the Great Resignation,’ because around the country millions of people are quitting. Millions of others are demanding raises and many large companies are seeing their employees going on strike.
Hospitals Are Getting Amazon’s Alexa
Hospitals in Boston and Houston are putting Amazon’s Alexa into patient rooms to help improve communication. The Alexa will be used to talk to the health staff and control devices just like at home. Hospitals are in desperate need of newer technology and Alexa is probably just the tip of the iceberg.
