Employees have been adding their pronouns to everything from email signatures to their LinkedIn and Zoom profiles. Pronouns help with the highlighting of gender expression, the understanding of who the individual is, and the person’s name, pronouns, clothing, and characteristics.
Employees say their goal is to help everyone feel included and to add diversity to the workplace. To help with inclusion, LinkedIn rolled out a pronoun field to its 200 million US users. Since then, 1.6 million members have added their pronouns to their LinkedIn profiles.
Companies say they should provide a space for LGBTQ+ to feel like they can express and talk about themselves and their lives outside of work.
